Problem: A user running Windows 10 called saying his Start Menu stopped working. I ran System Restore, yet I could not go back early enough to remedy the issue. I tested Windows updates going forward and still the updates did not fix the issue. Creating a new user profile had the same start button issue that occurred the first time. Then, I ran Sfc Scannow in Windows PowerShell to search for corrupt Windows files, but it found none.
Solution: Even though no corruption was found, I knew a Windows update had corrupt the Windows Start Menu application so I reinstalled the Windows application from PowerShell, ran Windows updates, and the user now has Start Menu functionality.
